"The Real Me" was the Irish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989, performed in English by Kiev Connolly & The Missing Passengers.

The song is a moderately up-tempo number, with Connolly singing about his lover leaving him. He explains that what she sees is "the real me", and that she needs to take it or leave it. The fact that she is leaving implies that she has elected to leave it.

The song was performed third on the night, following Israel's Gili & Galit with "Derekh Hamelekh" and preceding the Netherlands' Justine with "Blijf zoals je bent". At the close of voting, it had received 21 points, placing 18th in a field of 22. This was, at the time, Ireland's worst Contest result.

It was succeeded as Irish representative at the 1990 Contest by Liam Reilly with "Somewhere in Europe".
