The Arab Gulf States Institute is a Washington, D.C.-based think tank dedicated to covering the "social, economic, and political diversity of the Arab states of the Persian Gulf." Ambassador Frank G. Wisner is Chairman of the Board of the Institute.

The Institute is funded by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Several contributors produce long and short-term strategic papers on issues of concerning the Persian Gulf states, and their relationship with the United States and each other. Moreover, the Institute publishes a weekly newsletter called The Dhow that contains research, analysis, and commentary.

The group is funded by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates which has put the group on much accusation and criticism. An example is their heavily biased article against the Qatar-owned news company, Al-Jazeera, stating that Al-Jazeera is "Anti-Western" in order to sway western readers against the organization.
