Gran Guerrero is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a rudo ("bad guy") wrestling character. Gran Guerrero's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. He was originally introduced to the wrestling world under the ring name "Último Guerrero, Jr." in 2008 by his father Último Guerrero, but he made his wrestling debut under the name Taurus, with no official acknowledgment of the family relationship by CMLL. He was later introduced under the ring name Gran Guerrero, promoted as Último Guerrero's younger brother.
In 2008 Último Guerrero introduced "Último Guerrero, Jr." to the wrestling world and while it is not uncommon for fake relatives to be promoted in Lucha Libre, he was related to Último Guerrero although not 100% confirmed that he was the son of Último Guerrero.
He would later adopt the ring name "Taurus" in order to gain experience as a wrestler before using the name full-time. From 2008 until 2011 he kept training and occasionally wrestled matches on various local independent promotion shows. In 2011 he began appearing at International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) events, especially those featuring wrestlers attending the promotion's training school Futuro Idolos de Lucha Libre (FILL). He competed in the 13th, 14th, and 17th Torneo FILL, but did not win either of those tournaments. On July 23, 2011, he competed in IWRG's Copa Higher Power tournament, but was defeated by Maquina Infernal. On March 11, 2012, Taurus officially teamed up with his father Último Guerrero on a Toryumon Mexico for Toryumon's Copa Toyota where a rookie and a veteran teams up. The father/son team defeated El Hijo del Fantasma and Magnus in the first round, but lost to the team of Último Dragón and Angélico in the finals. He would later compete at Toryumon's Dragonmania VII show, competing for a match against the NWA International Junior Heavyweight Champion in a dragon scramble elimination match that was won by his father and also included Angelico, Brazo de Platino, Durango Kid, El Hijo del Fantasma, Hajime Ohara, Magnus, Nitro, Skándalo, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Último Dragón.
