The Tarkani (Pashto: تر کا ڼي tarkāṇī; Urdu: ترکانی) or Tarkalani (Pashto: ترکلا ڼيي tarkalāṇī; Urdu: ترکلانی) are a Pashtun tribe who are mainly settled in Bajaur Agency, Lower Dir district of Pakistan, and in Kunar province of Afghanistan but originally hailed from the Laghman province of modern-day Afghanistan.
In Pakistan, the vast majority of the Tarkalanis and its clans no longer reside in Bajaur Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, choosing instead to settle in Peshawar and other cities in Pakistan.
The Tarkani is split into four clans. These include Mamund (Kakazai and Wur) , Salarzai, Isazai, and Ismailzai.
