It lies on the main road that connects the district Bagh to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir and also connects the town of Chikkar with Bagh city. It is located at an altitude of 7000 feet.

The name Rairban belong to one tree is derived from a Pashto tribe saduzai who came here for Jihad at Dogra raj and settled here after that.

Unfortunately no hospital (whereas the Sitting Health Minister is also living in Sudhan Gali) or higher school are available for boys and girls in Sudhan Gali. They either have to go to Birpani or Bagh for higher education. There is only one central Jamia mosque where people from the surroundings come to offer prayers.
