Location

Stevens MRT Station (DT10/TE11) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line situated at the boundary of Tanglin and Novena planning areas, Singapore. The station is located along the Bukit Timah corridor, a largely residential area at the confluence of Bukit Timah Road, Stevens Road, Dunearn Road and Whitley Road. It is within walking distance to the Raffles Town Club, the Singapore Chinese Girls' School and St. Joseph's Institution. It will be built to link up with a future transit infrastructure.

The Downtown Line station (DT10) was designed by AEP Consultants and Geoconsult Asia and was constructed by Sembawang Engineers & Constructors.

This station will be an interchange with the Thomson-East Coast Line in the future.

"PIN - 23040" by Om Mee Ai is an artwork that illustrates existing patterns in nature that constitute an historical dimension of the junction of Stevens and Bukit Timah. It is to evoke commuters the distinct historical and natural identity of the surrounding area.

As the paid areas for the northbound and southbound platforms are not connected at this station, commuters would be charged if they tapped out of the station platform if they entered the wrong platform. After public concerns, the Land Transport Authority announced on Dec 31 2015, on the fifth day of the free travel that there would be a 10-minute grace period for commuters to tap out and tap in again and not be charged if they entered the wrong platform starting from Jan 2 2016 when fares are charged. This is the only MRT Station in Singapore that commuters are not charged for entering and exiting at the same station gantries.
