South Strabane Township is a township in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,346 at the 2010 census. The township is named after the town of Strabane in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

The Doak-Little House, Martin Farmstead, and Thomas Munce House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 23.1 square miles (59.9 km²), of which, 23.1 square miles (59.8 km²) of it is land and 0.04% is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7,987 people, 3,320 households, and 2,227 families residing in the township. The population density was 345.7 people per square mile (133.5/km²). There were 3,444 housing units at an average density of 149.1/sq mi (57.6/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.35% White, 1.58% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.40% of the population.

There were 3,320 households out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% were non-families. 30.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.92.
