Soan papdi (also known as patisa, son papri, sohan papdi or shonpapri) is a popular North Indian dessert. It is usually cube-shaped or served as flakes, and has a crisp and flaky texture.
Soan Papdi is said to have originated in India, with Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan having been proposed as the origin, which, however, remains unknown.
Its main ingredients are sugar, gram flour derived from chick peas, flour, ghee, milk, and cardamom.
