Satyajit Ray Metro Station is a station of the Kolkata Metro in Garia, a southern neighbourhood of Kolkata, India. The station is named in honour of the great Bengali filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The elevated structure is located above the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. The station is just in front of the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, on the eastern side and the Garia Apex Hospital on the western side.
The easiest & shortest Kolkata metro rail stretch is kavi Subhash to Satyajit Ray film & Television institute, which is less than 2 km.
Even this simple Metro extension is purposely undone since 2011.
New garia is a very backward, mosquito infested place, a deadly dengue prone area.
No progress in the New Garia locality is foreseen without immediate Metro rail connectivity with E.M bypass
