Sarah Song (Chinese: 宋熙年) (born 1985 in Guangzhou, Guangdong with family roots in Heshan, Guangdong) is a Hong Kong actress beauty queen who won the Miss Chinese International 2007. She hails from the city of Sydney, Australia. She speaks three languages, Cantonese, Mandarin, and English but understands French.
Song attended the all-girls high school, Pymble Ladies' College and graduated in 2003. After the completion of her High School Certificate she attended the University of New South Wales for a Bachelor of Commerce (Services Marketing - Tourism and Hospitality) which was discontinued when she joined TVB.
Song competed at the Miss Sydney Chinese 2006 beauty pageant, where she won. She competed as #1 and was 21 years old. Standing at 5'3.75", Sarah Song was a darkhorse in both Miss Chinese Sydney and Miss Chinese International. On 3 January 2007, she arrived at Hong Kong for the Miss Chinese International 2007 pageant. On the night of the finals, 20 January 2007, Song was in Foshan for the finals. She won the crown and also received the Miss Chinese Culture (Miss Chinese Ambassador) award. Her victory by many were considered to be because of her good interview skills during the finals. She and the other top 10 delegates were asked to explain Chinese slang sayings. She explained them all quite well as she spoke Cantonese.
Song received her prizes later in Guangzhou and returned to Sydney afterwards. Song joined TVB and flew to Hong Kong in April 2007.
Song is now working in TVB in Hong Kong as a well recognised host on a prime time television. She is the main host a current affairs and entertainment news program called Scoop 東張西望, as well as an English Lifestyle program called Dolce Vita on TVB Pearl-the largest english network in Hong Kong. She occasionally takes on roles in drama series, but her main area of performance is hosting as she is trilingual (Fluent in English, Cantonese , Mandarin). She is also a popular Master of Ceremony for many internationally renowned brand names in Hong Kong.
