San Mames Station or San Mamés is an intermodal railway station located in the neighborhood of Garellano in the district of Basurto-Zorrotza in the city of Bilbao. This station connects the services of Line 1 and 2 of the rapid transit system Metro Bilbao, lines C-1 and C-2 of the commuter rail network Cercanías Bilbao, line A of the tramway system EuskoTran and accesses to Termibus, the main bus/coach station of Bilbao.
Its name comes from the San Mamés Stadium, that is located nearby.
The station serves also as a Cercanías Bilbao station for lines C-1 and C-2, which connect Bilbao-Abando with Santurtzi and Muskiz. Cercanías Bilbao is a commuter rail system operated by Cercanías and managed by Renfe. The station was opened in 2000, along with other three Cercanías stations. On July 29, 2004 the location was changed in order to match Metro Bilbao's station and to connect with EuskoTran and Termibus.
The Metro Bilbao station is located under Sabino Arana avenue and has a direct connection with Cercanías Bilbao. Its exit by Luis Briñas street connects the station with the EuskoTran station and the bus terminal Termibus. Its fare zone is A.
"San Mames Station" is station of Line A of Bilbao's Tramway, operated by EuskoTran. Previously, it was located some blocks away, and it was relocated in 2004 in order to connect with Cercanías and Metro Bilbao.
