SIA Engineering Company Limited (commonly abbreviated as SIAEC) (SGX: S59) is a Singaporean company, specialising in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in the Asia-Pacific and is part of the Singapore Airlines Group. The Company has a client base of more than 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers. It provides line maintenance services at Singapore Changi Airport for more than 60 international carriers, as well as airframe and component overhaul on some of the most advanced and widely used commercial aircraft in the world.
SIA Engineering is involved in twenty-six joint ventures with original equipment manufacturers and airlines in Singapore, Ireland, Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines increase the depth and breadth of the company's comprehensive service offerings. The combined revenue of the Group's joint ventures is approximately S$2,000 million in FY2003/04, with 77% coming from non-Singapore Airlines (SIA) customers. Taking into account SIA Engineering Company's equity holding in its joint ventures, non-SIA customers contributed approximately 41% of SIA Engineering Group's business.
International Engine Component Overhaul Pte Ltd (IECO) is a 50/50 joint venture between Rolls-Royce plc and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC). Formed in March 1997, IECO's core business is the repair and overhaul of the Rolls-Royce Trent and RB211 Nozzle Guide Vanes and Compressor Stators using state-of-the-art technology.
Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) is Rolls-Royce's Asia-Pacific centre for the maintenance and repair of Trent aircraft engines. Singapore Aero Engine Services began operations in 2002. It is a joint venture between SIA Engineering Company, Rolls-Royce, Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited. The company repairs, maintains and overhauls Rolls-Royce Trent aircraft engines.
