The rustyhead snake (Amastridium veliferum) is a species of snake in the family Colubridae. The species is found from southern Mexico, through Central America, to Colombia.A. veliferum is one of only two recognized species in the genus Amastridium, the other being A. sapperi, which is named in honor of German explorer Karl Sapper.
