Rocky Mound is located in northern Camp County at 33°2′3″N 95°2′4″W / 33.03417°N 95.03444°W / 33.03417; -95.03444 (33.034298, -95.034431). It is 4 miles (6 km) northwest of Pittsburg, the county seat.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Rocky Mound has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 93 people, 41 households, and 30 families residing in the town. The population density was 228.3 people per square mile (87.6/km²).
