Quintus Vibius Secundus

Quintus Vibius Secundus was a Roman Senator who was suffect consul for the nundinium of March-April 86.

Secundus came from a family of Roman Equestrian order and by birth he was of the gens Vibia; he was born and raised in Rome. Secundus’ brother was the influential Politician Lucius Junius Quintus Vibius Crispus. There is a possibility that Secundus could be related to suffect consul Lucius Vibius Sabinus, father of the Roman Empress Vibia Sabina.

In late 60, Secundus was convicted for extortion on a charge brought by the Mauretanians and was exiled from Italy. His brother Crispus used his influence in the Roman Senate to save Secundus from a worse sentence. Later recalled from exile, Secundus served as a suffect consul, and in 101/102 served as Proconsular governor of Asia.
