Pyshchugsky District (Russian: Пы́щугский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,966 square kilometers (759 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Pyshchug. Population: 5,201 (2010 Census); 6,176 (2002 Census);6,965 (1989 Census). The population of Pyshchug accounts for 60.3% of the district's total population.
