DRB-HICOM Football Club is a professional Malaysian football club, which currently plays in the Malaysia Premier League, the second tier of the country’s steadily emerging football league.
Commonly referred to as The Great Bees, the team’s current home ground is at the Proton City Stadium in Tanjung Malim located within the state of Perak, Malaysia. The well-facilitated stadium currently has a capacity for 3,000 fans.
Established in 2008 to unite DRB-HICOM’s more than 60,000 employees through sports and specifically football, DRB-HICOM FC also provides an important avenue to uncover and nurture talents within the Group who will go on to become stars in the local as well as regional football arena in the future.
Since its inception, the club continues to attract local players and international footballers from Nigeria, Japan, Croatia, Ghana, Denmark and South Korea to don DRB-HICOM FC’s colours and to continue building the club’s reputation in the domestic league as well as on the regional arena.
Established in 2008 as the Pos Malaysia Football Club when the team was first registered with the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA), the club subsequently competed in the KLFA Premier League in the same year and gave a good account of itself in its debut year.
Very shortly, the following year in 2009, Pos Malaysia FC competed in the Malaysia FAM Cup, the third-tier of the Malaysian Football League. Thus far for the modest but highly ambitious club, past accolades include becoming champion of the Malaysia FAM Cup in 2009 and successfully winning promotion to the Malaysia Premier League in 2010.
