Porter Township is a township in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,348 at the 2010 census.
The township is in southern Clarion County, bordered to the south by Redbank Creek, which forms the Armstrong County line. The borough of New Bethlehem touches the southeast corner of the township. According to the United States Census Bureau, Porter Township has a total area of 44.5 square miles (115.2 km2), of which 43.9 square miles (113.7 km2) is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 km2), or 1.34%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,466 people, 565 households, and 423 families residing in the township. The population density was 33.0 people per square mile (12.7/km²). There were 603 housing units at an average density of 13.6/sq mi (5.2/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.11% White, 0.20% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.07% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population.
There were 565 households, out of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.1% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.02.
