U.S. Highway 2 serves as a main route in the community.

Poplar is located 18 miles east of the city of Superior.

As of the census of 2010, there were 603 people, 229 households, and 172 families residing in the village. The population density was 50.7 inhabitants per square mile (19.6/km2).
