Pileru is a census town in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Pileru mandal. It passes through a river and hence it got the name Pileru. In the local language Pilla Eru literally translates to A small water stream.
The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state. The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.
Pileru is located on the junction point of National Highway 40 (India) and National Highway 71 (India). Pileru railway station is situated on Dharmavarm - Pakala Branch line. Daily train services are available to Tirupati, Guntakal and Hyderabad.
