Pernia Moin Qureshi is an Indian fashion entrepreneur. She has worked as a stylist with Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Conde Nast in New York and New Delhi. She has also ventured into designing costumes for Bollywood stars, namely the film Aisha (2010). She created and launched Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, India’s first true fashion website that showcases over a 100 designers, and is available to the global clientele. Her book, Be Stylish with Pernia Qureshi, was published by Random House Publishers in 2013.
Pernia is a formally trained Kuchipudi dancer, under the renowned dance couple Raja-Radha Reddy. She has performed at multiple dance recitals across India with performances of Sufi music by Abida Parveen, and dance transliteration of the Urdu poems of Minu Bakshi.
Pernia incorporates her talent into the courtesan she plays in Muzaffar Ali's periodical drama film Jaanisaar opposite Imran Abbas Naqvi, a period drama set in pre-Independence India, as a courtesan. The movie was released in August 7, 2015.
Qureshi was born in Swat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan to an Indian father hailing from Rampur, Moin Qureshi, and Pakistani mother, Nasreen Qureshi. Moin Qureshi is a leading meat exporter based in India, and has recently been on the run from the Indian Department of Income Tax for allegedly indulging in Hawala transactions and amassing black money.
She tied the knot with UK-based banker, Arjun Prasad, a close relative of junior Cabinet Minister Jitin Prasada in 2011, and they moved into an apartment in Lodhi Gardens, paid for by the bride's father. In less than a year, the couple split. She is currently single.
