Operário is a Brazilian football team from Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, founded on August 28, 1938.
Operário is one of the most successful clubs of the Center-West Region of Brazil in national competitions. The club ended 1977 Campeonato Brasileiro in third, 1979 edition in fifth place and 1981 edition in seventh.
The club was founded on August 28, 1938, by civil construction workers of Campo Grande. The name Operário means Factory Worker in Portuguese.
In 1982 the club won the President's Cup, played in South Korea.
Since November 29, 1999, Operário is an enterprise. Because of this, the team name changed from Operário Futebol Clube to Operário Futebol Clube S/A. S/A means .
