The One-Two-Two was one of the most luxurious and illustrious brothels of Paris in the 1930s and 1940s. The name was taken from the address, 122 Rue de Provence, 8th arrondissement of Paris. The numbers were translated into English to ensure that foreign tourists would be able to find the brothel and as a password for French people.
Originally, it was a three floors building, former private mansion of the Prince Joachim Murat. It is raised with four floors by Marcel Jamet in 1933 : then, seven imposing floors with white shutters always closed.
The "One-Two-Two" is opened in 1924 by Marcel Jamet, and his first wife Fernande who calls herself Doriane, a former woman of another brothel in Paris : Le Chabanais. Doriane, through her husband, acquires 122 rue de Provence. At first, she uses only three "wringers" women.
Doriane quits the "One-Two-Two", to marry a rich diplomat in 1939. She is replaced by Georgette Pélagie known as Fabienne, a young woman who became sub-mistress at the age of 21 years. Marcel Jamet marries her in 1942 and offers an extraordinary feast for 56 distinguished guests for whom 34 magnums of champagne and 176 bottles are drunk.
The building has 22 rooms decorated. 40 to 65 prostitutes work for 300 clients per day. It is open from 4 pm to 4 am. The sub-mistresses filter the men at the entrance. The girls of the establishment must make 4 sex-sessions a day at 20 francs each, excluding tips, and two sessions on Sunday. There is also a bar, a refectory for girls and a doctor's office
