Omar Hashi Aden

Omar Hashi Aden (Somali: Cumar Xaashi Aaden, Arabic: عمر هاشي عدن) (died 18 June 2009) was a member of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, eventually rising to Security Minister. He was assassinated (see 2009 Beledweyne bombing) by a suicide bomber on 18 June 2009 in Beledweyne, in the Hiiraan region in central Somalia.

Aden was from Hiiraan region. Before the Ethiopian invasion of Somalia, he had been a former member of parliament in exile in Eritrea.
