The Northwest Region is an area of Pennsylvania containing the Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties. The city of Erie is the business center and cultural hub of the region. The population of the region is 908,367. Population growth is stable with increases in Clarion, Crawford, Erie, and Forest counties, but decreases in Lawrence, Mercer, and Venango counties. The region also includes the Erie-Meadville, PA Combined Statistical Area.
It is also noted for the Allegheny National Forest.
