Nirmal is a town and newly formed district of Telangana.it has population of above 1 lakh(2016).The town is surrounded by various ponds and There are many forts in and around Nirmal. Khilla, Bathees Gargh and Shyam Gardh..etc
The name Nirmal is derived from one of its famous 17th century rulers, Nimma Naidu. He was a great patron of the arts, encouraging the art of toy making out of poniki, a unique tender wood, which flourished in his time bringing significance to the town. Toy making is a small-scale industry in the town formerly known as " KOYYA BOMMALU ".
Nirmal is located at 19°06′N 78°21′E / 19.10°N 78.35°E. It has an average elevation of 340 metres (1100 feet).
In the 2011 Indian census, the total population of Nirmal Town was 88,433. There are 44,053 males (49.82%) and 44,380 females (50.18%). 10,303 children are below 6 years of age. There 5,315 males and 4,988 females.. As per the house hold survey conducted by Telangana govt in August of 2014, the population of Nirmal town is 116,800.
Major languages are Telugu, Marathi, Urdu and Gondi. Telugu has been the official language since 1956.
