Nikolsky District (Russian: Нико́льский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,511.9 square kilometers (969.9 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Nikolsk. Population: 34,271 (2010 Census);39,175 (2002 Census);46,619 (1989 Census). The population of Nikolsk accounts for 65.6% of the district's total population.
