Nikolay Lukashenko, also known as Kolya Lukashenko (Russian: Николай Александрович Лукашенко, Belarusian: Мікалай Лукашэнка - Mikalay Lukashenka, born August 31, 2004) is a Belarusian public figure and the third son of Alexander Lukashenko, the authoritarian president of Belarus.
For the first time, Kolya Lukashenko appeared in public in 2008. He has attracted significant media attention as his father Alexander Lukashenko took him to official ceremonies and state visits, including meetings with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, Russia's president Dmitry Medvedev and Pope Benedict XVI.
There has been no official commentary regarding the identity of Nikolay's mother. However according to a wide-spread version, his mother is Irina Abelskaya, a former personal medician of Alexander Lukashenko. At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko remains formally married to his wife Galina Lukashenko, albeit the couple is believed to be separated. Lukashenko has never appeared in public with his wife.
In 2013, Kolya has attracted further media attention as Alexander Lukashenko stated that he would become a President of Belarus, causing numerous speculations in the press.
