National Law University, Delhi (University of Law), abbreviated as NLUD, is the most prestigious law university in India, offering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is situated in Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi, India. NLUD is one of the national law schools in India built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India. The statute provides for the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi to function as the University's Chancellor whereas the Vice-Chancellor functions as the chief administrator.

National Law University, Delhi was established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 of NCT Delhi in the National Capital Territory of Delhi with the initiative of the High Court of Delhi under the leadership of Prof. (Dr). Ranbir Singh (also the Founder-Director/Vice-Chancellor of Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad). The University offers its flagship course, a 5-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree program with effect from the Academic Year 2008-09 starting in August, 2008. It was inaugurated by the erstwhile President of India, Pratibha Patil. The first Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh used to be the Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

The NLUD logo is composed of 3 elements: n(N), L(L) and u(U) which are interlinked by the second element (L or Law). In its totality it represents the harmonious confluence of disparate elements (disciplines) and levels: a rule that Law and its executive, the judicial system, also performs. Its columnar arrangement suggests upholding of justice, equality, fraternity and human rights in all their facets in a secular democracy.

The college started functioning in 2008 with limited buildings and inadequate provisions for the halls of residence. However, constant support and advocacy of the college by members of the judiciary saw the college attract funding as well as eminent jurists and people. By the year 2010, the college had completed its construction and was fully functional with modern infrastructure. These years also saw the rising popularity of the All India Law Entrance Test as competition for earning a seat became intense. Further, the latter parts of these years were also notable for a variety of successes at debating and moot court competitions. Overall, these formative years established the University as one of the top law schools in South Asia. The year 2013 also marked the passing of the first batch of the college, which set placement records after the University became the only law school in India to have a Magic Circle (law) firm recruit from its first batch.
