Nasirabad Government High School (Bengali: ) is one of the best government high schools in Bangladesh situated at East Nasirabad area in Chittagong, the port-city and the second largest city of the country. It is a male-only school with about 3000 students and conducts is educational activities in two different shifts of the day.
The school ranked 5 in Chittagong in 2012, and 11 in 2013.
NGHS was founded in 1967 during the Pakistan period by the government of Pakistan. After the liberation war of Bangladesh it came under the control of the government of Bangladesh.
The campus of this institution covers an area of 20 acres. The academic building is 'T' shaped. It is a two storied building. There is a library, an auditorium, a prayer room, individual laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science & other subjects. It contains enough classrooms for the students. The main academic building has a one-storied extension building inside the boundary named "New Academic Building". The office of the education officer of Chittagong is situated inside the campus with a 2-storied building. This office building also contains the hostels for the students of this school. This school has a large field in front of the education officer's office. Many famous cricket, football and hockey players started their careers playing on this field. Tamim Iqbal, former vice-captain of Bangladesh cricket team, played his first cricket match with cricket ball in this field. He made his first six in this field and it is his favourite. The school also possesses a library and laboratories for subjects including physics, chemistry, biology, and computer studies.
