Nanjing Normal University (NNU; Chinese: 南京师范大学; pinyin: Nánjīng Shīfàn Dàxué) is a normal university in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China. Located in the ancient capital of six dynasties in Chinese history, Nanjing Normal University is one of the provincial key universities of "Project 211" under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Provincial Government. The International Research And Training Centre For Rural Education is affiliated with the university's Education Faculty.

The origin of Nanjing Normal University can be traced back to 1902 with the establishment of Sanjiang Normal College as one of the cradles of China's higher normal schools, which was founded by Zhang Zhidong, the Governor-General of Jiangsu Province and Jiangxi Province. Today, Nanjing Normal University has developed into a comprehensive university that is well-known for its educational and scientific research, and has been included in the "Project 211" as one of the key construction projects on higher education in China since 1996.

At present, NNU has three campuses, Xianlin Campus, Suiyuan Campus, and Zijin Campus, among which Suiyuan Campus is renowned as "the most beautiful campus of the Orient". NNU is ranked top 50 in China as a comprehensive university, which has 6 national key disciplines, 3 national key cultivated disciplines, 10 provincial priority disciplines, and 19 provincial first-level key disciplines. It has 7 programs that are ranked top 10 in China according to the China Discipline Ranking by the Ministry of Education, and 3 programs listed among top 1% of ESI. It embraces diverse branches of learning such as philosophy, economics, law, education, humanities, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, arts, etc.
