Moderna Tider was released on 10 March 1981 as the second album from Swedish pop group Gyllene Tider. 130,000 copies were ordered in advance. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Swedish albums chart and No. 2 on the Norwegian albums chart.

The 150 000 first examples of the LP contained a bonus EP named Swing & Sweet. It contained four Swedish language covers of international well-known pop songs:
