Mendeleyevsky District (Russian: Менделе́евский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the republic. The area of the district is 746.4 square kilometers (288.2 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Mendeleyevsk. Population: 30,377 (2010 Census); 30,539 (2002 Census);26,764 (1989 Census). The population of Mendeleyevsk accounts for 72.7% of the district's total population.
