McLaughlin (Lakota: matȟó wakpá; "Bear Soldier" or "Blue Soldier") is a city in Corson County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 663 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

The town is named after US Indian Service Agent James McLaughlin, who supervised the Standing Rock Indian Agency from 1881 to 1895. He moved to Washington, DC, where he was Inspector of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Department of the Interior. After his death in 1923, his body was returned here for burial.
