Marshall Jay Kaplan (born July 24, 1965) is a Gemini Award nominated senior television producer, director, and host. His career is recognized for producing and directing a wide range of factual television shows that have appeared on top speciality channels across North America including TLC, HGTV and the Food Network. He is also known as a creator, executive producer and host of the celebrity-based show on Reelz, Totally Tracked Down.
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Marshall was an art student in high school, but attended the University of Toronto where he graduated with a double degree in microbiology and biochemistry. Although he graduated with top marks, it was Marshall’s love of television that made him follow is heart and make a career out of his passion.
Marshall's first step into the world of entertainment was developing his artistic craft and becoming the "cartoonist to the stars", as he has drawn no less than 10,000 celebrities for them. Most recent drawings were for Jon Hamm of Mad Men, Bradley Cooper of The Hangover, Kim Kardashian, the cast of Glee and Sofía Vergara of Modern Family.
Expanding upon his cartoons, Kaplan ventured into the entertainment section of newspapers with his "Where are they now?" column - carried by some 60 newspapers in the United States and Canada and read by almost 5 million North Americans.
Eventually radio stations have begun to take an interest in Kaplan's informative and entertaining look at celebrities and Kaplan was soon heard on radio stations across Canada.
