Maraaya are Slovene duo founded by Marjetka and Raay in 2014. The group's name is a combination of its members' names, while its pronunciation means "She has Raay" in the Slovene language.
The duo of vocalist Marjetka Vovk (née Jurkovnik, born 19 July 1984) and producer Raay (real name: Aleš Vovk, born 7 July 1984), both previously members of the turbo-folk group Turbo Angels, was formed in 2014 when they released their first single "Lovin' Me". This song was a big success at dance and iTunes music charts in Belgium, Germany, Italy and Slovenia. This song was put on Polish Bravo Hits Zima 2015. It charted at number 12 at the Slovenian SloTop50 official singles charts and at number 52 on Italy's FIMI official singles chart.
They represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Here for You". The performed in the second semi final where the song gathered 92 points and earned 5th place. In the grand final the song received 39 points and was 14th.
Song reached the peak chart position at the Slovenian SloTop50 official singles charts, 23rd place at the Austrian Ö3 Austria Top 40 official singles chart and 24th place at the Slovakian Rádio Top 100 official singles chart.
Raay is credited as the composer on Slovenia's 2014 Eurovision song "Round and Round", and they both contributed to Slovenia's 2014 Junior Eurovision song "Nisi sam (Your Light)".
