MTV Hits is a 24-hour non-stop pop music video channel from Viacom International Media Networks Europe launched on 1 May 2001. Available in the United Kingdom and Ireland on subscription satellite and digital television services.
MTV Hits began broadcasting in widescreen on 28 March 2012.
It reaches 2 million viewers in average every month in Sky alone.
In 2014, MTV Hits, as well as MTV Rocks and MTV Dance started broadcasting European versions, without commercials or teleshopping. The channels have a Czech license.
On 17 November 2015, a french version of the channel was launched and the european version stops broadcasting in France, Switzerland and Belgium. This version replaced the french versions of MTV Base, MTV Pulse and MTV Idol.
