Lyon County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 25,857. Its county seat is Marshall.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 722 square miles (1,870 km2), of which 715 square miles (1,850 km2) is land and 7.1 square miles (18 km2) (1.0%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 25,425 people, 9,715 households, and 6,334 families residing in the county. The population density was 36 people per square mile (14/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 93.58% White, 1.49% Black or African American, 0.31% Native American, 1.67% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.89% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. 3.97% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. 33.9% were of German, 15.5% Norwegian and 10.5% Belgian ancestry.
