This is a list of characters featured in the Baahubali franchise which consists of 2 films, a novel, a comic and an upcoming television series. They are all characters which have appeared in The Beginning (2015), The Conclusion (2017), The Lost Legends (2017) and the novel The Rise of Sivagami (2017).
Amarendra Baahubali, Maharaja Vikramadeva's son, was born in Mahishmati (Makizhmati in Tamil). His mother (then Queen) died while giving birth to him. He was named "Baahubali" by his aunt, Rajamatha Sivagami, who later became his foster mother and raised him. She recognised leadership qualities in him and announces him the king after he completed the challenge set before him, to kill the Kalakeya king. Bhallala Deva (Palvalthevan in Tamil) was the one to actually kill the Kalakeya king Inkoshi, but Baahubali was crowned king as he showed more honor in the battle. He is envied by Bhallaladeva, who manipulates Sivagami and made her order Kattappa to kill him for treason. He is loyal and bound by his promise even at the cost of his throne. He is the father of Mahendra Baahubali alias Sivudu. He is stabbed in the back by Kattappa.He was married to Devasena.
He is a sword-merchant from Persia, who befriends Kattappa during weapons trade.
Avantika is a skilled warrior and a member of the rebel group. She had devoted her life to her sole mission, saving Devasena from the trap in Mahishmati set by Bhallaladeva. She later marries Mahendra Baahubali and became the Queen of Mahishmati.
She is rebellious and fights for what is just. Like other female lead of series Devasena and Sivagami, she is strong, independent in her decisions and opinions and a fierce warrior. She participates alongside her husband Mahendra for killing Tyrannical ruler Bhallaldeva. However no information is provided about her parents, how she ended up in rebel group to save Devasena. She is one of the three female lead of series. Just like her grandmother in law Sivagami and Mother in law Devasena, she is a skilled warrior.................
Bhallaladeva is the king of Mahishmati. He is a renowned fighter, the only son of Sivagami and Bijjaladeva and the elder brother of Amarendra Bahubali. He is envious of Amarendra Baahubali. When he is made King, he relieves Amarendra of his official duties and later convinces Sivagami that Amarendra is trying to assassinate him. Bhallala Deva takes Devasena as prisoner and frequently taunts her in her captive. He is killed by on a pyre prepared by Devasena. After his death, his golden statue was disposed by the order of king Mahendra Baahubali.
