Milton “Lil Rel” Howery (born December 17, 1979) is an American actor and comedian. Howery is best known for his role as Robert Carmichael in NBC's television comedy series The Carmichael Show.

Lil Rel Howery began performing stand-up comedy on Chicago’s East Side at a club called the Lion’s Den.

In January 2007, Lil Rel Howery appeared on reality TV competition Last Comic Standing.

In 2012, Howery and five other comedians starred in a revival of the popular 1990s comedy sketch program In Living Color on FOX. The show was cancelled in 2013.

Lil Rel Howery is a writer, producer, and one of the regular cast members of the truTV sketch comedy series, Friends of the People. In 2015, Howery began co-starring in the role of Bobby Carmichael on the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show alongside the show’s creator, Jerrod Carmichael.

In early 2016, Netflix added: "Kevin Hart Presents: Lil Rel: RELevent" available for viewing on its streaming interface, in the United States. This premiered the comedian's first exclusive, solo-stand up special. Despite this, the comedy runs for a solid 62 minutes.

Howery had a role in the horror film Get Out, which was written and directed by Jordan Peele.

Lil Rel Howery grew up on the West Side of Chicago.
