Lake Lotawana is a city in Jackson County, Missouri, and is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri in the United States. The population was 1,939 at the 2010 census.
The city takes its name from a lake of the same name within its borders, which is said to be named after an Indian princess.
Lake Lotawana is a man made lake community built in the 1920's. It was incorporated as a city in 1958.

The racial makeup of the city was 96.8% White, 0.4% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.4% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8% of the population.
