In 1951, a dam was built to create the Lake Arpi reservoir and artificially increased the natural state of 4.5km2, 1.6m deep, and volume of 5 million cubic meters. The reservoir's dam is 10m high, and 80m long. The reservoir-lake spans 7.3km long and 4.3km wide, with an area of 20km2, 8m deep, and a volume of 30 million cubic meters.
