Kung Fu Yoga is a 2017 action-adventure comedy film written and directed by Stanley Tong. The film is a Chinese-Indian co-production of Taihe Entertainment (China), Shinework Pictures (China).
The film was released in China on 28 January 2017 and is scheduled for release in India on 3 February 2017. Featuring original music composed by Nathan Wang and additional music composed by Komail and Shivaan.
Jack (Jackie Chan), a renowned professor of archaeology at the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi'an, teams up with young Indian professor Ashmita and assistant Kyra to locate India's lost Magadha treasure in Tibet.
Principal photography began in Beijing in September, before moving to Xi'an and Dubai on 27 September and ended on 30 October. Filming then continued in Beijing and India in December. Filming also took place in Iceland.
The rights to the film have been sold for distribution across the world. In Asia, the rights have been sold to distributors in India, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Outside of Asia, the film will be sold to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Italy, Russia, Latin America, Turkey and the Middle East. It was released in the Philippines on February 1, as distributed by Star Cinema.
