Koduvally is a Municipality town in Kozhikode district. Koduvally is known as the golden town in Kozhikode district. It is located on the Calicut-Wayanad National Highway 212 (NH 212) and is about 22 km northeast of Kozhikode (Calicut) city. It is an intermediate Panchayat consisting of a number of village Panchayat including Kattippara, Kizhakkoth, Koduvally, Koodaranji, Madavoor, Omassery, Puthuppady, Thamarassery, and Thiruvambady. Koduvally also gives its name to the Koduvally River which flows west into the sea.
The road between Koduvally and Kozhikode was improved in the early 1970s and the Koduvally Bridge was built.
Koduvally Assembly constituency consists of the Panchayats Kizhakkoth, Koduvally, Madavoor, Narikkuni, Omassery, Kattippara, and Thamarassery.
V. M Ummar Master of Indian Union Muslim League is the Member of Legislative Assembly. In the 2011 Assembly elections he defeated M Mehaboob of CPI(M) at a margin of 16000 votes.The present MP (member of parliament) E. Ahamed represented Koduvally constituency in 1977. C. Moyinkutty, C. Mammootty and P. T. A. Rahim also represented Koduvally Legislative Assembly.
