Kirdaar was an Indian television series aired on Doordarshan directed by Gulzar. It ran between 1993 and 1995, based on short stories written by different writers in different languages, mainly Urdu, Hindi and Bengali writers. The short stories were featured from famous writers like Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, a celebrated Urdu writer from Pakistan, Malti Joshi in Hindi, and Samaresh Basu in Bengali. It starred Om Puri in 9 episodes, Bhupendra in 4 episodes and Bollywood actress, Nadira, made her debut on TV with the series.
The series had a good uptake for its literary content.
