KVOD (88.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classical music format. Licensed to Lakewood, Colorado, U.S. it serves the Denver area. The station is currently owned by Public Broadcasting Of Colorado. Its programming is broadcast on other stations around Colorado including KCFP (91.9 FM) in Pueblo, Colorado, KPRU (103.3 FM) in Delta, Colorado (serves the Grand Junction and Montrose areas), and KVOV (90.5 FM) in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Some of KVOD's programming is heard on KPRE 89.9 FM which also carries programming from KCFR-FM.

On July 9, 2008, CPR moved the KVOD classical programming in Denver to the newly acquired 88.1 FM signal. The switch moved CPR's classical music service to a significantly less powerful signal, effectively reducing the station's coverage to the greater Denver area and rendering it unreceivable to many of its former listeners. Denver area 90.1 became the new home of KCFR's news/talk programming, previously found on 1340 AM. [3]

As of 2014, KVOD has a construction permit to upgrade its power to 2.1kW, which would expand and improve signal coverage in the Denver area.

KVOD was originally a commercial radio station, marketing as the voice of classical music for the Denver Metro area on 99.5 FM from 1969 to 1995. In 1995, the station moved to 92.5 FM following the sale of the 99.5 frequency to Tribune Broadcasting who launched a classic rock station at that frequency.

In May 1999, the station was acquired by AMFM Inc. (formerly Chancellor Media Corporation). The new owners announced a format switch to Jammin' Oldies, and moved the KVOD call sign and classical music format to 1280 AM. Eventually, the station at 1280 AM and its extensive music library were acquired by Colorado Public Radio. The call sign and classical format were moved to 90.1 FM in 2001, then to 88.1 FM in 2008.
