Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (Telugu: కల్వకుంట్ల తారక రామా రావు, born 24 July 1976) popularly known as KTR, is an Indian politician from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. KTR is a Member of Legislative Assembly from Siricilla constituency. He currently serves as the Cabinet Minister for the State for different portfolios namely Information Technology (IT), Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Textiles and NRI Affairs. He is the son of Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana and founder of Telangana Rashtra Samithi. KTR has been awarded Most Inspirational Icon on the Year 2015 by CNN-IBN and Ritz Magazine.
KT Rama Rao was born in the Karimnagar district of Telangana (erstwhile State of Andhra Pradesh), India, on 24 July 1976. His father, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, is the founder of Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the first Chief Minister of the State of Telangana and mother, Shobha Rao, is a home maker. His younger sister, K Kavitha, is the President of Telangana Jagruthi and a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha for the Nizamabad constituency. Since 2003, KTR is married to K Shailima. The couple has two children.
