Juno Mak is a Hong Kong singer, record producer, actor, and director.

Juno Mak was born in Hong Kong in 1984. He is a singer, producer, actor and director. He started his career as a singer in 2002. He focused on creating alternative pop music and producing music videos for his own songs.

Mak made his foray into motion pictures when he appeared in Ho Cheung Pang’s ‘Trivial Matters’ (2007) and ‘Dream Home’ (2010), with outstanding performances. In 2010, Mak starred, wrote and produced ‘Revenge: A Love Story’ (2010), directed by Ching Po Wong, which won him the Best Actor Award at Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival as well as the Best Textual Philosophy Award, the Best Director Award for Wong at the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival. Mak and Wong teamed up again in 2011 for ‘Let’s Go!’, a homage to heroic comics. The film was the first project produced under Kudos Films Limited, Mak as the company founder.

Mak made his directorial debut with Rigor Mortis in 2013, which he produced jointly with Japanese horror film master Shimizu Takashi. As a tribute to the film ‘Mr. Vampire’ (1985), one of his personal favourite, Rigor Mortis reunites the original cast members including Siu Ho Chin, Richard Ng and Anthony Yau Chan in a homage to the Chinese “hopping Vampire” films, a genre once very popular in the 1980s and 1990s. The film won the FIPRESCI Award at the 50th Golden Horse Awards in 2013 , and the Jury Award at the 21st Gerardmer Film Festival in France in 2014, and was one of the recommended films at the 20th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards. In addition, Rigor Mortis snagged nine nominations at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards, including the Best New Director, the Best Actress, the Best Supporting Actor and the Best Supporting Actress etc. The best director at the YAHOO! Buzz Awards in 2013 also goes to Mak.

Juno said, “It has been more than ten years for me to be a creative singer since 2002. It is unexpected that I would direct a film Rigor Mortis in 2012. To me, as a singer, actor, screenplay, director or produce, the originality of all is “creation”. I love creation. It is always contradictory in making films. It emphasizes teamwork whereas it is also based on the personal idea of the director. It is always a new world for the audience to release their emotions in the dark cinema. We would be laughing, weeping, feeling grief, fear, angry, touched and released together with the story and characters. Films are the reflection of humanity and sentiments. And this is the eternal beauty of creation.”

Juno joined his brother's company, Silly Thing. After launching his Proto album, in 2004, Juno's management was able to establish a style of music based on dark elements, the album Otherside, which was considered an important landmark in his music career. He got awarded the "Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Chart Awards 2005" for his song "Hermaphroditism".
