Monk Tang finds himself as a giant in a city in India. His master congratulates him on reaching India and retrieving the Sutras. As a reward he gives him a halo. The halo however malfunctions and Tang awakes from a dream. He is in fact staying with his three disciples in a circus to raise enough money for their journey to India. Tang encourages Monkey to perform for the villagers but he refuses. Tang agitates Monkey by calling him "Bad monkey" which causes him to smash through the village damaging their homes. The terrified villagers present the group with money and food for travelling. That night Tang whips Monkey for his disobedience.
The next morning Tang goes to find water for their breakfast congee and comes across a house. The woman inside welcomes them all in for breakfast. However Monkey sees that she and her friends are actually demons wanting to eat them. Monkey purposely agitates them, and she and the others show their true form as giant spiders. They fight and the demons come together to form one huge spider. However Monkey takes them out. Before Monkey kills the demon, Tang interferes to exorcise her but Monkey smashes the demon's head with one blow. Tang is again annoyed at Monkey's disobedience and whips him again that evening.
Later that night, the enraged Monkey discusses with the others his plans to kill Tang, but the others fear Tang's mighty Buddha Palm powers. Tang overhears this and prays to Buddha to help him and also confesses that he really doesn't have the Buddha Palm. Pigsy overhears this and tells Monkey, who challenges Tang to a fight. However just as he is about to strike, a blinding ray of light shines from the heavens and Monkey retreats. The next day they pass by a city and a minister comes out to greet them and to see the King. The King is a very immature man who likes to play. He orders Tang to perform for him but he doesn't have anything to showcase so Monkey tricks Tang into using the obedience sticker so that Tang can copy Monkey's moves. Tang copies Monkey's martial arts skills but then slaps the King by copying Monkey. The King kicks them out but Tang orders Monkey to come in to apologise. However the King is actually a demon and Monkey slaps him repeatedly and he shows his true form. They fight and Monkey wins. The Demon was an imposter and had the real king locked up. As a reward for helping him, the King gives them a beautiful girl, Felicity, to accompany them on their travels.
