Josephine is a city in Collin and Hunt counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 812 at the 2010 census, with 755 residents in Collin and 57 in Hunt County.
Josephine is located in southeastern Collin County at 33°03′40″N 96°18′48″W / 33.061018°N 96.313227°W (33.061018, -96.313227). A small portion extends east into Hunt County. It is 24 miles (39 km) northeast of Garland and 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Greenville.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Josephine has a total area of 1.9 square miles (5.0 km2), of which 1.9 square miles (4.8 km2) is land and 0.08 square miles (0.2 km2), or 3.64%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 594 people, 205 households, and 166 families residing in the city. The population density was 364.5 people per square mile (140.7/km2). There were 220 housing units at an average density of 135.0 per square mile (52.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 92.93% White, 1.18% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.51% Pacific Islander, 4.21% from other races, and 0.51% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.61% of the population.
